September 09 Updates (Source : Wikimedia)
Late yesterday evening our September 09 updates crept out onto the servers. This is update paves the way for a bunch of exciting features we have planned for the next few months. More importantly, there is a quite a few changes in underlying architecture, with a move to a new version of our API. So, lets get down to the goodness !
1) Our Awesome Affiliate Program, with a twist – earn up to 50% of a customers life time spend ! Thats right 50% ! Referrals earn 25%, Developers baking Handset Detection into their software can earn 25%, combine the two and you’ve got 50%. Get the full scoop at the affiliate page, the affiliate FAQ has a few more details on the mechanics of how it all works as well.
2) APIv2.0 – Its been with us for some time and now its official API v2.0 we love you. All the documentation has been updated and enhanced for 2.0. APIv1.0 will continue to work away as before, however APIv1.0 plugins will not qualify for the developer affiliate program.
3) Groovy new website look. Did you notice ?
4) Additional caching to speed up performance.
5) Plugins and API kits page, everything you need to get up and running fast, all in one spot. Featuring API Kits for Java, Python, and .Net, along with an update or two for the the PHP API Kit.
What are your thoughts on the update ? Like it ? Hate it ? Let us know.
